💮 THE PAINTING
This painting was a very fun one to work on! It started out as an image in my head at three am, as most of my paintings do, and I just had to get it out. After a few days I found some time to sit while my baby napped on my chest and I balanced my iPad on the arm chair and just started drawing.
I feel I have been too reliant lately on references. I found myself unwilling to start a piece until I've found a reference photo and that can just get very tiring. So, for this one, I just wanted to paint. I didn't even look in my art books for inspiration or direction. I just relaxed and took it slow and I think the fun I had shows in the quality of the end result. (❁º◡º❁)
😷 SICKNESS
Man, everyone is sick right now. Miles got Croup (it manifested as a wheeze for him which sounded very sad). Then, Miles got Brad sick and then the in-laws came and Brad's mom got sick and then Grams got sick and I got sick and now we're all just sick. I may even have gotten my bestie who was visiting sick as well. 🙃 Brad, being the champ that he is, still went to work. I had to call off last week to get Miles to the doctor and had to excuse myself from Thanksgiving and a market today to help with Grams and the baby.
I'll spare you the dirty details but my last two weeks have been trying to feed medicine to a screaming baby, getting his boogies out, cleaning up the messy poos 💩 from the medicine and trying to get some sleep between his restless nights. It's been real hard over here, not gonna lie.
Painting is a much needed escape and time of relaxation between the fussiness. This painting in particular was a much-needed distraction.
How about you guys? Is everyone sick where you're at as well? I hope someone out there is escaping the madness haha.
🎏 TABLE UPDATE
I am ever attempting to trim the fat off of my art business and get to a place where I am happy with the level of effort and professionalism. I have been taking a critical eye to my table setup recently and have decided that it's just too . . . messy. I also don't think that the green 🍃 table cloth (as much as I love the color) pulls in the correct audience.
So! I have gotten myself a lovely pink gingham table cloth, a beautifully bright orange 🍊 table runner and even updated my logo!
I have been considering a new logo for quite some time and have been finagling with different ideas but in the end I went with simple and easily recognizable. Sprout 🐻🌱 with my username all paint-y and stuff.

This month's was a super easy pick! Since this painting is so darn cute, we're going with this one. Last month's mail will be shipped out next week. ⊹
